The Nike sport band is amazing. I have it. It tells you your average pace per mile, amount of miles run, time, and calories burned. It is 53 – 59 dollars but if you run a lot, it’s worth the money.
You can see it online here:

Even though it is a bit bulky, I like the Garmin Forerunner 205. I love it and use it a lot, especially on trail runs. It records distance, elevation changes, pace, calories burned, and all sorts of other stuff. For about an extra fifty dollars more, you can get the Forerunner 305 which has a heart rate monitor.

The Garmin Forerunner line is great. The 305 is bulky but has tons of useful features, but the forerunner 50 is the size of a regular watch (the size does affect its features). Check out http://www.gpsunitsandaccessories.com/fitness to see a full line of fitness related gps’ They are pretty cheap and reliable. My personal preference is the Edge but its not a watch it is more ipod styled.
