so i'm looking on Amazon and ebay for a gps, and wondering what constitutes a good gps/gps buy...
anyone has an idea/advice?

Be very careful about buying a gps unit on ebay. Garmin will not guarantee a gps unit purchased on ebay. So many are bootlegged and may not be true Garmin units. If you buy on ebay you will have to buy product guarantee from somewhere other than Garmin. I am not sure if the same problem exists on amazon as ebay.
