GPS Wrist Watch

A GPS wrist watch would be an excellent gift for anyone you know who is interested in becoming an athlete. The technology, previously used almost exclusively to give motorists directions to their eventual destination, has many other practical uses. It allows amateur athletes to track their performance statistics in a bid to develop their performance, set training plans and allow them to stick rigidly to a calorie based diet and exercise plan.

The GPS wrist watch has other uses too, however. Parents who are concerned about the safety and the location of their children can buy them a GPS watch that tracks their movements and reports back to a central database. By accessing a website, a parent can make sure that their child is where they should be. If the child is late getting home from school, the parent can log into the database to see whether they are on their way, or whether help is required to ensure that they get home safely. Although this is frowned upon by some there is an argument to say that privacy must take second place to security.
As well as these uses, though, GPS watches can play the same part for a pedestrian that in-car GPS systems have been playing for motorists for years already. Owning a GPS wrist watch is highly beneficial if you are visiting a new city, enabling you to find the quickest way to a destination that may be completely alien to you. However much you may feel that it is excessive use of technology, just imagine never getting lost again.
